You’ve probably heard the fact that a dog’s mouth is cleaner than the human’s – but you should NEVER ever let your dog lick your face ever again, and here’s why.

There are different bacteria that live in the mouth of your pet, than the ones your body is used to fight against. Every bacteria doesn’t attack the same organism, right?

Plus, dogs have an awful habit of snitching and probably also, licking everything that surrounds them – you could say that a dog’s tongue is like the skin on man’s hand. It has to touch. So, many bacteria that the dogs pick up, are not tolerated by humans.

If a dog or a cat licks your skin, it probably isn’t harmful. But letting the pet sniff and lick your face, that could be a serious problem. Why? Because the skin won’t absorb and react to the saliva as much as the nose, mouth and eyes do.

Cute slobbery kisses from your furry canine friends might melt your heart, but they can also cause some fairly serious health issues.

You might have heard that a dog’s mouth is cleaner than a human’s, but that’s a big myth! So if you or your loved ones enjoy a little puppy love now and then, you should never let your dog lick you … especially your face.

You could end up being attacked by bacteria such as Escherichia Coli, salmonella, campylobacter (which causes gastrointestinal diseases), gum disease, clostridium, and intestinal parasites, better known as hookworms, or, roundworms.

There’s no vaccine that you or your dog can take to prevent this. These infectious diseases cause symptoms, such as diarrhea, fever, skin rashes and inflammation, fatigue, abdominal pain, vomiting, and also, shortness of breath.

Loving your dog doesn’t have to include kisses! It’s also selfish to keep your dog isolated from other animals, so that he couldn’t get any bacteria that you could later catch as well. You could be the best friends and roommates, just cut on the near face contacts.
